Administrative Assistant for Soil & Water Department- Part-Time
Administrative / Office Support
Description of Position: The Administrative Assistant is a part-time employee of the Richmond County Soil and Water Conservation District and ultimately answers to the Richmond County SWCD Board of Supervisors. The employee will serve as the office receptionist, perform basic accounting duties, prepare financial reports, prepare agendas, and record minutes for SWCD board meetings, maintain SWCD website and Facebook page and assist with special outreach events.
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for developing the daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for the SWCD board of Supervisors with minimal assistance. Schedules should be coordinated with other SWCD staff members at weekly staff meetings.
An effective Administrative Assistant exhibits an outgoing and friendly personality as well as excellent communication skills and is able to offer creative ideas and solutions to diverse audiences of varied ages. The administrative assistant should enjoy networking between agencies and be an efficient mediator between clients and Soil and Water resources. This person must also be a team player willing to assist with any program of the SWCD.
This position will have minimal supervision on a daily basis and therefore, the Administrative Assistant should demonstrate a high level or integrity, self-motivation, organization and time management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Will serve as receptionist for office.
• Maintain SWCD website and Facebook page, updating and keeping information current.
• Perform office administration.
• Attend some evening and weekend obligations.
• Occasional travel is necessary. 2 times per year overnight.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a drug test and background check.
Salary and Benefits: Pay will be established at an hourly rate, approximately $13 to $15 per hour, and will be based on experience, education, and available funding.
Administrator Qualifications: • Applicant must be a high school graduate. A strong agricultural background is preferred.
