AgCorps Ag Steward
AgCorps members with a focus on education are generally serving in k-12 schools or non-profits with a strong emphasis on agricultural education. There is also the possibility of assisting with Ag-focused summer camps and events. Most members are utilizing a Farm to School, Ag in the Classroom, or Harvest of the Month curriculum. Member Duties : Possible duties: • Implement local food promotional projects • Collaborate with partners to review and update shared resources • Create educational and outreach materials • Conduct monitoring for grants • Conduct trainings and events on mapping systems • Create story and project maps for noxious weeds • Assist with scheduling, logistics, & outreach needs • Potential conference support • Work collaboratively with botanists to develop and refine the position, roles, and processes • Conduct volunteer outreach and manage volunteer data Possible KSAs • Ability to speak in public settings • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of multiple computer applications • Valid driver's license • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs • Interest in plants, invasive species, bees, agritourism Attendance to mandatory trainings and participation in evaluation and reporting is a requirement
