Agricultural Design Engineer - Intern - Lexington, NE

Principal Function of the Position:

This position is responsible for providing drafting, and engineering documentation support for product and design engineers, using current drafting and 3 - D Modeling techniques and technical resources

Primary Engineering Intern Duties:
  • Prepares routine layouts, CAD drawings, sketches & diagrams to support Design Engineers.
  • Prepares print revision, modifications & Engineering changes for release.
  • Updates and maintains CAD system drawing database & engineering data for MRP system.
  • Creates and maintains engineering documents.
  • Perform Engineering calculations & analysis.

Secondary Engineering Intern Duties:
  • Will periodically be required to support projects involving field service and testing.

Physical Demands:
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Determine the distance between objects.
  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.

Education Requirements:

This position requires that an individual be actively enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum related to the area for which he/she is being assigned to. Those areas would included but not be limited to a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering, etc.

Prerequisite Skills and Work Experience
  • Experience with Auto desk Inventor or comparable solid modeling programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Proficiency in written, presentation, verbal and telephone communications skills.
  • Be able to provide class records and recommendations from current academic professionals and advisors.
  • Be able to provide references and recommendations from prior employers and/or work mentors.
