Principal Function of the Position:
This position is responsible for providing engineering support for Manufacturing Engineering department, including creation of work instructions, maintaining project lists and excel files, tooling/fixture design, and ERP system updates

This position requires that an individual be actively enrolled in an accredited engineering and/or engineering technology curriculum related to the area for which he/she is being assigned to. Those areas would include but not be limited to an Associates or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Ag Engineering, Ag Systems Technology, etc.

Primary Engineering Intern Duties:
- Update Bills of Material and Operations routers as directed by ME manager.
- Creation of work instructions to benchmark current processes and/or implement new processes.
- Design of tooling to assist in weld, paint, and assembly departments.
- Work in collaboration with production floor to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain documentation of all updates per company procedures.
Secondary Engineering Intern Duties:
- Collaborate with design engineering for implementation of new products.
- Weekly meetings with ME department to update project statuses.
- Create presentations in Power Point or other similar software as required.
Physical Demands:
- Sit for long periods of time.
- See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
- Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
- Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
- React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Determine the distance between objects.
- Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.

Prerequisite Skills and Work Experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
- Proficiency in written, presentation, verbal and telephone communications skills.
- Be able to provide class records and recommendations from current academic professionals and advisors.
- Be able to provide references and recommendations from prior employers and/or work mentors.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or comparable solid modeling programs preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable 2-D CAD programs preferred.
