We are looking for a Agricultural Regulatory Specialist I, in Office of State Vet's Office, Division ofRegulatory Field Services, Disease Surveillance and Control Section 1.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Experience in agriculture, inspection, quality control, regulatory, chemical application or application or inspection of pesticides or restricted chemicals, or a related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Typical working conditions will require travel to such places as stockyards, farms, businesses, and amusement parks. Has close contact with livestock animals in such areas as stockyards, barns and/or barnyards.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

We are looking for a Agricultural Regulatory Specialist I, in Office of State Vet's Office, Division ofRegulatory Field Services, Disease Surveillance and Control Section 1.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Learns to perform routine inspections relative to testing and disease monitoring of livestock atmarket facilities.
- Works with local veterinarians and producers on animal health issues.
- Records and facilitates identification of animals as required by Animal Disease Traceability Rule.
- Insures regulatory compliance for entry of animals at livestock events.
- Learns to perform beginning level inspection duties of equine animals from foreign countries whichinvolves identifying, quarantining, and inspecting animals upon arrival into Kentucky.
- Routine inspections of animals presented for entry at equine exhibitions, racetracks, and trail rides toensure compliance with regulations and testing requirements.
- Completes stockyard and rendering inspections as well as animal identification traceabilityrecords and forwards to the administrative staff within the State Veterinarian's office inFrankfort.
- Completes and forwards to supervisor, time sheets and activity reports.
