STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

SCOPE:

Heartland Food Products Group is searching for a qualified Farm Mechanic / Maintenance Mechanic at the Splenda Stevia Farm in Archer, Florida. This is a full-time, year-round position with an expanding specialty crop operation. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, solid farm equipment repair experience, and the ability to work independently in both the shop and the field.

This person will be responsible for helping keep tractors, harvesters, trailers, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery operating efficiently throughout the year. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Farm Mechanic / Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing farm equipment and assisting with overall equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include:
• Repair and maintain tractors, harvesters, trailers, implements, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete timely repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime during busy seasons
• Assist with center pivot irrigation maintenance and repairs
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, and general shop repair work
• Help organize tools, parts, and shop supplies
• Keep equipment serviced, safe, and field-ready
• Communicate with management regarding needed parts, repairs, and equipment concerns
• Assist with general farm duties when needed, especially during busy field and harvest periods

Desired Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous experience repairing and maintaining farm equipment
• Strong mechanical ability with tractors, harvesters, implements, trailers, and general farm machinery
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues independently
• Welding and fabrication ability preferred
• Experience with irrigation equipment, especially center pivots, is a plus
• Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision
• Willingness to assist with field operations when needed
• Good communication skills
• Dependable, organized, and safety-minded work habits
• Valid driver's license preferred
