Direct Supervisor: Joe Mendes, Vice President Central States COMPENSATION, REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS Base Salary: $80,000-$125,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Bonus Program: In years when Raptor Ag is profitable, employees can earn a bonus up to 10% of their
salary, if job performance has been satisfactory. After three years employment, employee is qualified to earn a higher bonus percentage.

- Three weeks paid time off per year, along with holidays, increasing to four weeks PTO after two years employment with Raptor Ag.
- Matching 401K (dollar for dollar match, up to 6% salary). - Health, dental and vision insurance for employee, spouse and dependents. Raptor Ag
pays t100% of monthly premiums. - A company vehicle may be provided. - Up to $100/month cell phone allowance. - There may be weeks when poor weather conditions cancel tasks for one or more
weekdays. Additionally, there may be weeks when vital orchard tasks are being administered. As a result, employees are occasionally asked to work weekends and/or more than 40 hours per week.
Requirements: - Valid drivers license. Agree to allow Raptor Ag to periodically check driving record.
- Willingness to submit to a background check, drug test and random drug tests. - Experience in managing a large agriculture operation a plus. - A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, management or relative field is a plus.
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES Raptor Ag manages a large acreage position of pecan orchards in south-central and southwest Oklahoma. The company requires an Area Manager to work with the Vice President and team in all facets of farming operations, with the goal to maximize crop performance. Raptor Ag takes pride in the farm facilities and orchard aesthetics, functionality, and performance. POSITION SUMMARY The Area Manager will manage assigned orchards, which will consist of more than 1300 acres. More responsibilities and promotional opportunities can be expected with satisfactory job performance and a positive attitude. As an Area Manager, it is expected that you will manage a group of Operators (equipment operator), Orchard Assistants (farmhands) and possibly contract workers, which will perform a majority of the tractor work and other tasks for your assigned orchards. It is Raptor Ag’s goal to add pecan acres to the region and increase the acreage responsibilities of Area Managers and provide more staff under the Area Manager’s supervision. The Area Manager oversees all operations going on in the assigned orchard blocks, including ensuring all irrigation, chemical and fertilizer programs are implemented properly, ensuring pruning is done properly, helping direct harvest on assigned orchards, assisting agronomy team in scouting for pests, and assisting with annual budget development. Some equipment operation time may be necessary during the busiest times of the year. Harvest can result in long workdays for up to eight weeks. Senior management/ownership may occasionally request the Area’s Manager’s assistance in other aspects of Raptor Ag’s operations. The Area Manager will have many resources available to learn the specific management strategies implemented by Raptor Ag. Responsibilities include:
1. Work with supervisor(s) on new orchard design, layout and marking.
a. Assist in the overseeing of orchard plantings and establishment. b. Manage contracted planting crews to ensure fields are planted to desired standards.
2. Agronomic and Operational Oversight.
a. On any assigned orchard, assist agronomist and Vice Presiodent in scouting for pests and disease and observe orchard health and communicate regularly to supervisor(s) with any issues or points of concern.
b. If requested, work with supervisor(s) on an annual basis in developing farm budget. c. Track and log all chemical, fertilizer and irrigation applications if and when required. d. Work with supervisor(s) in ensuring MSDS maintenance and proper field re-entry.
3. Assist supervisor(s) in the oversight of orchard maintenance.
a. Work with supervisor(s) in ensuring orchard ground is properly maintained through chemical and mechanical means.
b. Ensure staff properly installs and/or maintains irrigation systems in all fields. c. Work with supervisor(s) and support staff in ensuring irrigation and fertigation applications are
in correct amounts and timing. d. Work with supervisor(s) in ensuring all necessary tree spraying is performed on a timely basis. e. Manage contract labor.
4. Perform orchard maintenance such as spraying, ground maintenance, pruning when needed. Assist
with all aspects of harvest operations.
5. Coordinate with supervisor(s) with harvesting operations to maximize yield and to minimize dockage. Oversee and assist with all aspects of harvest on assigned orchards.
6. Review all accounts payable invoices associated with assigned orchards and work with supervisor to ensure invoices are coded property and submitted to the accounting department in a timely manner.
7. If needed, assist with machinery maintenance.
8. When needed, work on or direct non-orchard related projects of general construction, farm road
maintenance, and field perimeter maintenance.
9. Attend applicable continuing education classes and attend Hazelnut industry functions. Maintain a spray applicators license.
10. At times, supervisor(s) may request, if tasks in assigned orchards are up to date, to assist Agronomist, other Area Managers, or other team members in their tasks.

Salary range
- $101,000 - $125,000 per year
