Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers is hiring an Assistant Manager - Refined Fuels to join our Ray-Carroll Fuels team in Richmond, Missouri. In this role, you will help lead day-to-day department operations, strengthen customer relationships, and grow propane and refined fuels sales. Reporting to the Fuels Manager, you will work closely with customers, drivers, service personnel, and management to keep service safe, responsive, and reliable.

We are a member-owned, full-service agricultural cooperative that has served Missouri producers since 1931. Across 11 locations and a trade territory covering more than 15 counties, Ray-Carroll provides grain, agronomy, precision agriculture, insurance, energy, feed, trucking, and other services that help local farmers and rural communities succeed.

Ray-Carroll Fuels is our full-service energy business serving Ray, Carroll, Lafayette, and surrounding counties. We provide bulk refined fuel and propane delivery for homes, businesses, and farms, along with refined fuels at nine card-operated locations. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who understands propane and refined fuels programs, brings strong sales instincts, and is ready to support customers and the team wherever needed.

What you will be doing

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while developing new business opportunities across the trade territory.
  • Promote propane, refined fuels, and related services by understanding customer needs and recommending practical solutions.
  • Prepare quotes and pricing recommendations and help the department achieve sales and gross margin goals.
  • Support daily Refined Fuels Department operations, including customer service requests, delivery coordination, inventory management, equipment utilization, and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Work alongside drivers, service technicians, and office personnel to keep customer commitments on track.
  • Respond to customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support safe work practices and compliance with company policies and applicable industry regulations.
  • Assist with employee training and onboarding and serve as a resource when operational questions arise.
  • Assist with fuel and propane deliveries when workload, employee absences, emergencies, or other operational demands require it.
  • Monitor local market conditions, identify opportunities to improve sales and service, represent the company at customer and industry events, and support department reporting and planning.

This job is for you if you have

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience working with propane and refined fuels programs, including sales, delivery, operations, or customer service, is required.
  • A strong sales mindset and the ability to build customer relationships, uncover needs, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and shift priorities as customer and operational needs change.

Preferred experience

  • A Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
  • An associate degree or equivalent additional industry experience.
