Bismarck State College is seeking an innovative, student-focused educator to join our team as an Assistant Teaching Professor of ATNR. We are looking for someone who brings energy, creativity, and a passion for preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving agricultural and natural resources landscape.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities include supporting student success through instruction within the Agriculture, Technology, & Natural Resources pathways. The successful candidate will create engaging learning experiences that help students develop technical skills, creative thinking, and professional communication abilities.
Additional responsibilities include:
We're looking for a collaborative and innovative educator with strong communication skills, creative expertise, and a commitment to student success. Industry experience is highly valued.
STARTING DATE: Fall 2026
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Nine-month full-time, non-tenure track position.
Minimum starting salary based on experience and education:
Master's Degree - $52,628 - $65,785
Bachelor's Degree - $50-228 - $62,785

- Delivering high-quality classroom instruction in Agriculture, Technology, & Natural Resources courses.
- Mentoring and advising students to support academic and career success.
- Supporting student retention and engagement initiatives.
- Developing, updating, and maintaining relevant academic curriculum aligned with industry trends.
- Assessing student learning and submitting assessments and grades by established deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting departmental operations.
- Collaborating with colleagues, campus departments, and industry partners.
- Participating in institutional service through committee work and campus involvement.
- Engaging with industry professionals to support workforce-relevant learning opportunities
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and Academic Division Dean.

- Appropriate agriculture-related master's degree or
- Appropriate agriculture-related bachelor's degree with an agreement to complete a master's degree in six years.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to teach, mentor, and support students from diverse backgrounds.
- Postsecondary teaching experience
- Expertise in plants, soils, or animal science
