About the
Organization:
The Tennessee Beef Industry Council (TBIC) is a non-profit organization
charged with the promotion and marketing of beef and beef products in
Tennessee. TBIC is funded by the Beef Checkoff and TN Beef Promotion
programs, a $1.50 per head assessment on the sale of cattle. Checkoff and
Promotion dollars are used to increase beef demand through programs of
promotion, research, and education. The organization is directed by a 12-
member board, representing the state's 38,000 beef producers. Visit

Job Description: The Communication Coordinator is responsible for consumer and producer
outreach supporting the Council’s strategies to reach a defined target
audience through social, traditional, and digital media as well as programs
targeting consumer awareness, outreach, education and promotion. The
Communication Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating, developing,
and managing best methods for sharing information digitally, traditionally
and will serve as a brand ambassador on social media properties and in
person. In addition, the program coordinator will manage several brand
awareness and education programs. Strong story-telling and writing focus is
a plus, to reinforce beef's positive brand image, deepen target engagement,
decrease barriers to consumption, and build beef demand. Responsibilities
align and will be executed in accordance with TBIC Marketing Plan.
Skill Set
Alignment:
• Create and evaluate content for social channels (Facebook, Instagram,
etc.). Understand and incorporate best practices for developing online
communities including social listening, reviewing analytics and
measurement tools to increase consumer engagement.
• Create and coordinate content for social / digital / print for media,
consumers and stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with influencers, health professionals, educators,
channel marketers and program staff to ensure integrated content and
messaging is aligned and shared with appropriate audiences.
• Manage multiple programs and projects and regularly work with staff
on strategic efforts.
Candidate
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, family & consumer science,
agriculture. Website and Social Media experience and community
management skills preferred.
• Experience with social media campaigns, web/social media analytics,
photography, videography/editing, graphic design
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Collaborative team member mindset
• Communicator and able to build and maintain strong working
relationships across all levels of the organization
Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience, demonstrate
excellent writing, planning, leadership, organization, communication and
interpersonal skills, and the ability to work successfully with teams on
multiple projects under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
Flexibility is important as position ranges from strategic to executional.
Moderate travel.
