The Company-Owned Farm Maintenance Specialist ensures compliance with all safety operating procedures, along with all Federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations.
Job Description:
- Responsible for facility maintenance, utility equipment, troubleshooting and general repairs and readings
- Aggressively manage all breakdown maintenance requirements to successful conclusions
- Evaluate the effectiveness of equipment functionality and schedule necessary repairs or suggest changes in operating methods in order to improve operations
- Develop, implement, and maintain the department's preventative maintenance procedures
- Oversee work in progress by outside contractors to determine adherence to plans and specifications, including fabricators, welders, and pneumatic and hydraulic expertise
- Track, measure, and document the performance of the maintenance mechanics on an individual basis
- Directly assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed
Job Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least5 years of maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical,
- 1 year of direct supervisory experience requiring knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as well as general facility repairs
- Previous experience in industrial mechanical maintenance,with strong knowledge and hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic equipment and systems
- Previous experience in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentation
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives
- Ability to problem-solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction
- Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to build strong, trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive-level management
- Basic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysis
- Ability to communicate factual information and provide direction
- Experience working in a 24/7 operation and ability to work holidays or weekends
- Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience working on farm packers is preferred. (Particularly Sanavo and Prinzen brands)
