Feyh Farm Company is hiring a Crop Production Specialist to join our family farming operation in Alma, Kansas. This is a hands-on agricultural position involving crop scouting, irrigation management, John Deere equipment operation, spraying, harvesting, and farm truck driving. We are flexible in how responsibilities are divided and can tailor the position around the experience and strengths of the right candidate.

Feyh Farm Company is a multigenerational family farm growing approximately 3,800 acres of corn, soybeans, grain sorghum, and specialty seed crops. Our diverse seed production includes native prairie grasses, smooth brome, rye, mung beans, cowpeas, hairy vetch, millet, and wildflowers. Approximately one-third of our acres are irrigated, and we clean and process our seed crops on the farm.

We use regenerative farming practices, including cover crops and reduced inputs, and are beginning to incorporate custom grazing into our operation. Two generations of our family currently work on the farm. We operate as a team while trusting employees to work independently, think for themselves, and ask questions when needed.

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $70,000, based on experience, along with health and dental benefits, paid vacation, a 401(k), and bonus opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Scout corn, soybean, grain sorghum, and specialty seed crops for weeds, pests, disease, nutrient needs, and overall crop health
  • Assist with irrigation scheduling and monitor irrigated acres throughout the growing season
  • Operate John Deere farm equipment, including drills, sprayers, combines, tractors, and other agricultural machinery
  • Apply crop protection products safely and accurately using farm spraying equipment
  • Operate farm semis to transport grain, seed, equipment, and agricultural products
  • Operate robotic weed-control equipment and other precision agriculture technology
  • Assist with planting, spraying, harvest, seed production, and other seasonal farm activities
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and help keep farm machinery in good working condition
  • Maintain accurate application, field, and operational records using John Deere Operations Center
  • Work independently while communicating and coordinating with family members and other farm employees
  • Take on additional responsibilities based on your experience, interests, and the seasonal needs of the farm
  • Future advancement opportunities available

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working in crop production, grain farming, seed production, agronomy, or a related agricultural environment
  • Experience operating John Deere tractors, combines, sprayers, drills, or similar farm equipment
  • Knowledge of crop scouting, irrigation management, spraying, or regenerative agriculture is preferred
  • Class A / Farmer CDL or experience operating farm semis is preferred
  • Kansas private pesticide applicator certification is preferred
  • Strong work ethic and a dependable, self-motivated approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to ask questions, learn new skills, and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Respectful, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • Ability to work in a smoke-free workplace

We understand that one candidate may not bring experience in every area. If you have a strong agricultural background, mechanical aptitude, or experience in several parts of crop production, we encourage you to apply. We are willing to adjust the responsibilities of this position to make the most of the right person’s skills and experience.

Join Feyh Farm Company and build a long-term career with a progressive, diversified Kansas farm that values teamwork, independent thinking, regenerative agriculture, and responsible land stewardship.
