Farm Education & Volunteer Coordinator
OVERVIEW
Redeemer Valley Farm is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Farm Education & Volunteer Coordinator to lead our efforts in providing engaging educational experiences and meaningful volunteer opportunities to our community. The Coordinator will play a central role in developing and implementing farm-based educational programs, coordinating volunteer activities, and fostering a culture of learning, stewardship, and community engagement.

The Coordinator will play a central role in developing and implementing farm-based educational programs, coordinating volunteer activities, and fostering a culture of learning, stewardship, and community engagement.
SUMMARY OF JOB
- Volunteer Coordination:
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support farm operations, educational programs, events, and special projects.
- Maintain volunteer databases, schedules, and communications to ensure efficient coordination and utilization of volunteer resources.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and recognition to volunteers, fostering a sense of belonging and ownership within the community.
- Coordinator with Volunteer Manager and Executive Director to ensure all administrative tasks are fulfilled including calendar development and event planning.
- Farm Education Program Development:
- Develop and implement farm-based educational programs, workshops, and tours for diverse audiences, including schools, community groups, and families.
- Create educational materials, resources, and hands-on activities to enhance the learning experience and engage participants of all ages and backgrounds.
- Community Outreach and Engagement:
- Promote farm education programs and volunteer opportunities through outreach efforts, including social media, newsletters, website updates, and community events.
- Cultivate relationships with schools, youth groups, civic organizations, and other community stakeholders to expand participation in our programs and activities.
- Represent Redeemer Valley Farm at community events, fairs, and outreach activities to raise awareness and build support for our mission and programs.
- Farm Support
- Support the garden area, including vegetable production, composting, and landscaping, to meet the needs of programs and events.
- Support the micro-dairy operations as needed, including milking, feeding, and care of dairy animals, as well as milk processing and storage, in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in the cleanliness, hygiene, and proper maintenance of dairy facilities, equipment, and milking parlors.
- Evaluation and Reporting
- Track volunteer engagement and ensure utilization of the check-in system.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of farm education programs and volunteer activities, collecting feedback and data to inform program improvements and decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports, summaries, and presentations on program outcomes, volunteer engagement metrics, and community partnerships for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and other staff members to identify funding opportunities and secure resources to sustain and expand our educational and volunteer programs.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in education, environmental science, agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in education, community engagement, volunteer coordination, or related roles preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Passion for sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community building.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate educational programs, volunteer activities, and special events.
