Golden Grain Farms is hiring a Farm Equipment Operator – Mechanic to join our team in Woodrow, CO (about 100 miles northeast of Denver). In this role you will be the operation of farm machinery and agriculture equipment with equipment maintenance and repair responsibilities. Character, work ethic, and a desire to continuously improve are more important to us than having every technical skill on day one.

We are a progressive, multi-faceted agricultural operation located in Woodrow, Colorado. We farm approximately 50,000 acres of dryland crops, raising wheat, corn, millet, and milo. In addition to our farming operation, our businesses include seed production, conditioned manure spreading, and freight transportation.

We offer competitive compensation of $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience. Housing, paid time off, and retirement options.

What you will be doing:

  • Operate tractors, sprayers, trucks, implements, and other farm machinery and agriculture equipment used throughout the crop production cycle.
  • Assist with planting, spraying, harvesting, tillage, and other seasonal farming activities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on farm equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and help keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare, adjust, and maintain agriculture equipment for changing field conditions and seasonal operations.
  • Maintain clean, organized equipment, shop, and work areas.
  • Assist with other areas of the farming operation as needed throughout the year.
  • Follow established safety practices while operating, maintaining, and repairing equipment.

This job is for you if you have:

  • Previous experience operating sprayers, tractors, or other farm machinery is preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability and willingness to safely operate large agriculture equipment.
  • Growth-minded, ambitious, purposeful, and intentional approach to work.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Dependable team player who takes pride in doing quality work.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and continuously improve.
  • Ability to work additional hours during busy planting and harvest seasons as needed.
