Food Safety QA Specialist - Temporary
Overview
Eligible for a hybrid work schedule split between home & office, with a minimum of 3 days in the office each week.
As a temporary Food Safety QA Specialist, you'll support our Quality Assurance and Food Safety team at our Support Center while gaining hands-on experience with food safety systems, product quality, supplier partnerships, and restaurant support. During this assignment, you'll help maintain key areas of ComplianceMetrix, the platform our team uses to manage restaurant product complaints, onboard vendor partners, initiate product recalls, and store product specifications.
This is a great opportunity to expand your experience across a wide variety of food and non-food products while building highly transferable skills in a growing field.

Responsibilities
- Develop and update product specifications across our restaurant concepts.
- Review restaurant product complaints, determine the appropriate disposition, and partner with vendors to help reduce repeat issues.
- Help onboard vendor partners by requesting and tracking the tasks and documentation required for supplier approval.
- Conduct product evaluations to verify adherence to product specifications throughout the supply chain.
- Support the rollout of the Finished Product Standards function within the ComplianceMetrix Product Specification Module.
- Assist with the development of North Italia product specifications.
- Support the rollout of North Italia's Incident Management module.
- Work within ComplianceMetrix to help maintain product specifications, vendor information, incident management activity, and other food safety and quality records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience working with an ERP system, such as ComplianceMetrix or SAP.
- Working knowledge of GFSI, GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and food defense principles.
- Understanding of corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an investigative approach to resolving product and quality concerns.
What We Prefer:
- Experience using statistical or data visualization applications such as Tableau or Minitab.
- Experience conducting root cause failure analysis.
- Previous experience within the food industry.
- Auditing experience.
