Overview
Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. Our specialist areas include Dairy, Food Technology, Bakery, and Butchery, all of which are supported by our modern food processing facilities. These purpose-built processing halls contain dedicated areas for each discipline, with this role primarily focused on supporting activities across the processing halls.
Operating to the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), our Food Centre provides an excellent learning and production environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join the College's Technologist team and play a key role in supporting teaching, training, and commercial activities within our state-of-the-art processing facilities.

Key responsibilities:
- Support learning and other activities which occur in the Processing Halls, through the preparation of materials and equipment, setting up of practical sessions, operating equipment, and cleaning.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), allergen controls, and health and safety requirements.
- Provide technical support to staff and students, assisting with practical learning activities, food processing operations, and commercial trial work.
- Contribute to the effective operation of the processing halls, including stock control, housekeeping, customer visits, events, and the promotion of products manufactured within the Food Centre.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
- Have level 2 Maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).
- Be a hands-on individual with experience of operating modern Food / Dairy Technology equipment.
- An understanding of practices intrinsic to a modern food manufacturing environment which operates to leading edge standards of Good Manufacturing Practice.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and an understanding Dairy and Food manufacturing practices.
- Experience working within a food production, food technology, manufacturing, or practical learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support both staff and students in a practical setting.
