Overview
Our award-winning farm is a centre of excellence for agricultural education and innovation, supporting a 260-head pedigree Holstein and Ayrshire dairy herd, sheep, and 600 acre arable enterprises. With cutting-edge facilities including a GEA rapid exit parlour, Lely A5 robotic milkers, and a Lely Vector feeding system, we are proud to be at the forefront of UK land-based education and farming innovation.
About the role
We are looking to recruit two highly motivated and experienced General Farm Workers to join our farm team. Reporting to the Director of Farm Operations and Innovation, the successful applicants will be involved in all aspects of the farm's livestock enterprises with strong eye to detail and maintaining best practice of animal welfare and management. We are looking to appoint two individuals: one with managerial responsibility for overseeing the College's sheep enterprise, and another with a particular interest and expertise in cattle nutrition and diet management.

- Ensure excellent animal welfare and husbandry standards.
- Support and train students in practical farming activities.
- Maintain accurate livestock records and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver farm training and contribute to the success of the College farm.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with livestock, particularly sheep or cattle.
- Practical livestock husbandry and animal welfare skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
- Enthusiastic about supporting students and developing farm operations.
