Responsibilities
- Collect eggs from nest boxes and assist with egg handling procedures
- Feed birds and monitor their well-being
- Count birds and separate them by sex into designated pens as needed
- Monitor flock comfort and proactively address potential stressors
- Administer vaccinations to birds according to veterinarian protocols
- Assist with loading and unloading birds onto trailers
- Maintain nest boxes, including cleaning and replenishing wood shavings
- Keep fans clear of dust and feathers to ensure proper ventilation
- Participate in cleaning, pressure washing, and disinfecting houses and nest boxes
- Maintain the grounds by removing trash, controlling weeds and grass, and clearing snow when necessary
- Follow all biosecurity and animal welfare policies
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures
- Report any animal welfare concerns to management promptly
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
