Grain Truck Driver

The Grain Truck Driver's main responsibility is to transport grain, feed ingredients, and dry fertilizer to and from Key Cooperative's locations, processors and other Key Cooperative customers.

Customer Service
  • Shows leadership by presenting a clean, professional appearance which includes wearing Key Cooperative branded apparel and showing respect to customers.
  • Be responsible for timely delivery of commodities or products to designated locations.
  • Ability to communicate and resolve issues with the customer.
  • Projects a positive attitude to both internal and external customers and employees at all times; exhibits good customer relations skills.
  • Keeps the Transportation Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
  • Show respect to all company employees.

Work Schedules
  • Completes all assigned tasks according to their daily work schedule.
  • Notify transportation manager of any loading and delivery problems or delays over 1 hour.
  • Displays reliable attendance and schedules time-off with minimum advance notice of 1 day.

Maintenance
  • Maintain the truck in safe working order (according to DOT standards) which would include but not limited to keeping the truck/trailer and cab clean and presentable.
  • Report all maintenance issues with the truck/trailer to either the transportation manager or terminal manager.
  • Perform all pre/post trip inspections and report issues discovered.
  • Report all DOT non-compliant issues immediately, so the issues get addressed ASAP.

Safety & Company Policies
  • Operate equipment in a safe and prudent manner. Drivers will adhere to the rules and laws established by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by Key Cooperative.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and appropriate compliant paperwork.
  • Report near misses and safety observations using RCI software.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Experience - minimum of 1 year verifiable related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Class A Commercial Driver's License
