- Site inspections-checking doors, buildings, and birds.
- Problem solving alarms
- Prepping buildings for movements and vaccinations (disinfecting ladders, setting up disinfecting footbaths& bleach sprayer, helping to lock up birds)
- Picking up floor birds.
- Pouring water in buildings to maintain humidity in chick houses.
- Snow removal and salting
- Mixing disinfectants for footbaths, tires baths, testing and refilling.
- Cleaning when no cleaning team is present.
- Laundry.
- Run limited equipment as assigned
- Perform daily/weekly calendar cleaning as assigned by management and/or supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to include weekends and holidays.
- Basic understanding of animal welfare and maintaining Herbruck’s standard of care.
- No contact with birds, swine, or cattle.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Working in an environment with live animals which can be dusty, dirty, and seasonally hot or cold.
- Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
- Ability to stoop, bend, climb and lift at least 25 pounds. continuously throughout the day and 50 pounds occasionally.
Safety:
- Follow all company safety rules and biosecurity protocol.
- Proper PPE.
- Lock out tag out awareness/authorization.
- Report any safety concerns to Manager.
