KG Agri Products (KAPI) is hiring Plant Operators to join our team in Marysville, OH (about 40 miles northwest of Columbus). In this role you will support daily production, grain handling, and warehouse operations. This hands-on role includes receiving and sampling soybeans, operating grain-processing and bagging equipment, driving a forklift, preparing shipments, and maintaining clean, safe work areas. You will follow daily production schedules and help ensure soybean products meet quality and customer requirements.
New employees will initially focus on bagging, palletizing, material handling, and forklift operations. As they gain experience and demonstrate proficiency, they will be cross-trained in additional areas of plant operations, including processing, receiving, quality testing, inventory, and shipping.
KAPI operates a food-grade Non-GMO and organic soybean processing facility in Central Ohio. Our agricultural production operation receives, processes, packages, and ships soybean products while maintaining standards for food safety, product quality, and traceability.
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-exempt | Reports To: Plant Operations Manager | Multiple positions are available.
Work Schedule: First Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or Second Shift: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Overtime may be required, and work hours may change based on business needs.

What You Will Do
- Receive and test soybeans: Operate the scale house, weigh inbound trucks, collect soybean samples, complete assigned quality and moisture tests, maintain receiving records, and direct unloading.
- Operate production equipment: Safely operate soybean cleaning, sorting, processing, conveying, and bagging equipment. Monitor product quality and yield, make authorized adjustments, and promptly report contamination, equipment problems, or deviations from specifications.
- Package and ship products: Bag, label, seal, palletize, wrap, and stage finished soybean products. Operate forklifts and other authorized material-handling equipment and load trucks and containers according to shipping schedules and load plans.
- Manage materials and inventory: Organize raw soybeans, work-in-process materials, finished products, packaging, and plant supplies. Perform physical counts and report inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain product traceability: Follow identification, separation, and cleanout procedures for conventional Non-GMO, organic, seed, and customer-specific products.
- Keep the facility clean: Perform sanitation, housekeeping, dust control, and cleanout throughout the grain-processing plant, warehouse, scale house, and work areas. Complete assigned pest-control inspections, document findings, and report pest activity.
- Inspect and maintain equipment: Perform daily equipment checks and authorized basic maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, simple adjustments, and replacement of minor wear items. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and report unsafe conditions or repairs beyond your training and authorization.
- Follow safety and quality standards: Comply with operating procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), organic, Non-GMO, SQF, customer, and company requirements.
- Document and communicate: Complete production, receiving, shipping, quality, inventory, and equipment records accurately and on time. Communicate production status, safety concerns, equipment conditions, and shift handoffs with supervisors and coworkers.
What You Will Need
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety rules, product labels, and operating procedures.
- Basic math, measurement, recordkeeping, and computer or data-entry skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work safely and reliably with limited supervision after training.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required forklift and equipment-operation training or certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio Agricultural Commodity Tester Certificate after hire, along with any other certifications required for assigned soybean sampling, moisture testing, and scale-house quality testing.
- Availability to work overtime and adjusted schedules based on grower deliveries, seasonal demand, production requirements, and staffing needs.
Preferred Experience
Experience is helpful but not required. Preferred qualifications include:
- One or more years in agriculture, grain handling, soybean processing, food processing, manufacturing, warehousing, or production.
- Experience operating forklifts, grain-processing equipment, conveyors, or bagging equipment.
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, quality control, inventory, shipping, organic or Non-GMO products, and traceability procedures.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, stair climbing, and repetitive material handling.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment and at heights in a grain-processing and warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, and outdoor conditions while wearing required PPE.
