Linn Co-op is looking for an experienced, growth-minded Sales Agronomist who is ready to make the first call, earn growers’ trust, and build business across the Central City territory. This is a field-focused role for someone who combines strong agronomic knowledge with a hunter mentality and takes ownership of customer relationships and results.
You’ll join a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck team backed by strong operational capabilities and continued investment, including a new 7,500-ton dry fertilizer facility. Your judgment will be trusted, your voice will matter, and you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact on the co-op and the growers it serves.

Schedule & Work Environment
The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with overtime and weekend work during the spring and fall seasons. The role includes frequent local travel to customers, work around agricultural equipment and crop inputs, and occasional lifting or carrying of up to 50 pounds. Personal protective equipment is provided. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals.

What You’ll Do
- Develop new business while strengthening and expanding relationships with existing growers.
- Sell and recommend seed, crop protection products, dry fertilizer, anhydrous, and other crop inputs.
- Scout crops, collect soil samples and use field observations to make sound agronomic recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and customer value.
- Assist with loading, delivery and seasonal operations when needed.
- Represent Linn Co-op’s values and provide dependable, responsive customer service.
What We’re Looking For
- Five or more years of agronomy sales or closely related experience, with demonstrated success developing new business.
- Strong working knowledge of seed, fertilizer, crop protection products, and Iowa row-crop production.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-directed, dependable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Associate degree in agronomy, agriculture or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Willingness to obtain the required Iowa applicator licenses and Class B CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements after hire.
