Agriculture Land Lab Farm Manager Job Description

Position Description / Working Conditions:

The Agriculture Land Lab Farm Manager oversees all aspects of the Agriculture Land Lab Farm. These responsibilities of the Manager include but are not limited to the following items.

• Management of all livestock on a daily basis
• Oversight of a 10,000 square foot garden and two high tunnels on a daily basis
• Maintain grounds and facilities on a daily basis
• Coordinating activities with all of the school system's Agriculture Education teachers
• The Agriculture Land Lab Farm Manager position reports to the Director of Career & Technical education within Giles County Public Schools
• Keep accurate financial records and production data.

Qualifications:

• Must have experience operating a farm with cattle, sheep, and other similar livestock
• Must have an understanding of the lifecycle of farm animals
• Must be organized and able to manage, schedule, and evaluate various aspects of a farm to maximize limited resources
• Ability to work collaboratively with all aspects of a public school system including administrators, teachers, students, parents, and school board members
• A thorough understanding of the needs of a public school system, its students, and teachers
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while meeting the demands of teachers and students in a timely fashion
• Ability to research and solve problems independently
• Conducts and organizes technical training for staff and teachers as required

Terms of Employment:

Salary commensurate with experience.
