Job Description:
The Institute for Rural Vitality seeks a Program Administrator to provide assistance and support within the OPPE Grant functions. The position is responsible for administration, delivery, and implementation of services across a multi-million-dollar economic development grant portfolio. The intent of the program is to engage disadvantaged or veteran farmers and ranchers in New York's Mohawk Valley. This position will conduct outreach, participant coordination, program implementation, and assist with other administrative tasks.
Serve as a liaison to grant participants, community partners, sub-awardees, and contractors related to the OPPE grant operations. This includes program implementation, service delivery, tracking, and collaborating on required reporting to grantors.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Familiarity with SUNY Cobleskill's and the Institute for Rural Vitality's mission, vision and programming.
Strong organization skills.
Experience with successfully collaborating and managing vendor and participant relationships.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook for email management
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in grant administration, writing and budget management preferred.
Project management skills preferred.
Experience with event planning preferred.
Experience with customer service preferred.
Understanding and capacity to network within New York's agricultural and food sector is preferred.
Advanced degree in communications, marketing, or management is preferred.
Additional Information:
$45,000 - $50,000 annually + benefits
Monday - Friday (occasional nights and weekend days)
8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Full time 37.5 hours per week
October 15, 2026 - December 31, 2028
Renewal contingent on additional funding
