Danner Livestock is hiring a Swine Herdsman to join our team in Chalmers, IN (about 20 miles north of Lafayette, IN). In this role you will oversee daily swine care and farm operations while working alongside ownership and our team. This hands-on livestock position includes feeding, breeding, herd health, weaning, processing litters after weaning, and barn maintenance. Our ideal candidate takes pride in caring for the operation as if it were their own. Character, work ethic, and a willingness to learn are our top priorities.
We are a 200-head show-pig operation in Chalmers, Indiana, raising competitive show pigs for youth across the country. We work hard, use our time efficiently, and build customer relationships that last beyond the purchase of a showpig. We value flexibility and helping our employees grow.

What you will be doing:
- Feed sows and provide daily care for the swine herd.
- Check for heat and breed sows.
- Monitor herd health and administer vaccinations as directed.
- Assist with pig flow, livestock movement, and weaning.
- Thoroughly clean pens and maintain a clean livestock environment.
- Maintain farm buildings and assist with routine barn maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate daily tasks with ownership and team members to keep operations running efficiently.
This job is for you if you have:
- Livestock experience and an understanding of the farm and animal production environment.
- Experience working with pigs or in swine production preferred.
- Punctual, hardworking, motivated, and attentive to detail.
- Coachable, a strong listener, and willing to learn and follow directions.
- Able to work well with a team and take ownership of daily responsibilities.
- Available for weekend work as scheduled.
