Student Worker - Water and Soil Lab Technician

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

The primary objective is to support teaching and research at the Water/Soil Lab under Dr. Barbosa supervision.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing and maintaining the water and soil laboratory to support teaching and research activities
  • Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, and equipment for class experiments
  • Clean, label, and store glassware, sampling containers, and laboratory supplies
  • Support students and help ensure materials are ready for class activities
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and notify the supervisor when materials need to be restocked
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and help maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies or Geography major (preferred) or any major
  • Basic understanding of water and soil concepts and laboratory organization

Requirements:

  • ENVS 111 completed
