About us

At Wild Hope Farm, we are passionate about bringing high-quality, USDA Certified Organic produce into our local communities through sustainable farming. We invite you to join us on the land for education, exploration, and celebration centered around nature.

JOIN OUR TEAM

We are seeking strong, efficient people with experience and passion who aspire to manage a production farm one day. All employees are integral members of our 8-14 person team at Wild Hope Farm. During the season you will be exposed to all aspects of organic farming and deepen your knowledge of our organic farming methods, produce and operations, season extension, cover cropping, reduced-tillage methods, composting, soil quality, harvesting and packing, customer delivery, and selling. We will assess your development and coach you towards operating independently over the time with us.

ABOUT THE FARM

With 12 acres under production and other mixed use acreage with greenhouses, walking trails, a large pond, and diversified natural areas, there is always a lot to do on the farm. Our produce is sold through a 300-400 person CSA, to local chefs, wholesale to foodhubs, and at two farmers markets (Uptown & Matthews farmers markets). In addition to farming, we also host complementary on-farm events including retreats, farm-to-table dinners, and educational workshops to cultivate community and encourage people to learn about our farming practices. We welcome you to help with the planning and implementation of at least one of our on-farm events.

GOALS FOR THE FUTURE

Over the last 3 years, we have scaled our production from 1 to 12 acres. As you might expect, this involves a great amount of planning and building both on the farm with our infrastructure (irrigation, fencing, soil quality) and in the community with our market development (growing from 150 to 350 member farm share). We also scaled up our flower production. As an employee at Wild Hope, you will be exposed to the challenges and successes we experience in scaling quickly and you will have an opportunity to grow with us if it is the right fit. Over the next few years, our goal is to focus on improving our systems to become a more efficient operation both in our growing approach as well as our employee experience.

ON FARM COMMUNITY

Located just north of Chester, SC, we are 45 minutes south of Charlotte, 25 minutes south of Rock Hill, and 50 minutes north of Columbia. The farm is remote and can feel isolating at times. As a result, we host lots of on-farm gatherings with our team from monthly potlucks, bonfires, pond parties, learning sessions, off-farm tours, and other events.
