2026-2027 High School General Agriculture Teacher

Duty Days: 217 days per school year

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Instruction & Curriculum ?

Deliver TEKS-aligned instruction in Agriculture Mechanics and other Agriculture courses, including but not limited to:

• Agricultural Structures Design & Fabrication
• Agricultural Equipment Design & Fabrication
• Agricultural Power Systems ? Welding I & II (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW as appropriate)
• Other Agriculture Classes, as assigned

• ? Prepare students for industry-based certifications, including: ? AWS Certified Welder performance qualification FFA & Student Leadership ? Serve as an advisor to the local FFA chapter. ? Support student participation in: ? Career Development Events ? Welding competitions ? Livestock show project construction ? Leadership Development Events ? Supervise student project construction and ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Required Qualifications ? Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources OR ability to obtain certification. ? Demonstrated experience in agricultural mechanics and welding. ? Knowledge of American Welding Society standards and welding codes. ? Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and shop safety practices. ? Ability to manage a laboratory-based instructional setting.
