Position Overview
As an AVP Ag/Commercial Banking Officer, you'll play a key role in managing a diverse loan portfolio, while building and managing customer relationships and supporting the growth of the bank.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys building relationships that go beyond the transaction.
What You'll Do
Customer Experience
- Deliver personalized, professional service that makes every customer feel valued
- Assist customers with loan-related questions or concerns
- Build trust through clear communication and attention to detail
Portfolio Management & Operations
- Generate agricultural, commercial, and consumer loans
- Underwrite loans within credit policy and make underwriting decisions within approval authority
- Generate new loan volume for the bank by calling on current customers to expand banking products or soliciting potential new customer prospects
- Cross-sell the bank's products including deposit relationships
- Follow all bank policies and regulatory requirements
Sales & Relationship Growth
- Identify opportunities to recommend products and services that support customer goals
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers and welcome new ones
- Support branch promotions and outreach efforts
Team & Culture
- Collaborate with team members to deliver a seamless customer experience
- Support internal partners with loan-related questions
- Contribute to a positive, team-first environment
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and accountability every day
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field plus 3 years of experience; or
- 5 years of experience in a business lending role; or an acceptable combination of both education and experience.
Preferred
- Ag lending experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
