The Missouri Agricultural & Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA)'s purpose is to promote the development of agriculture and small business by providing additional sources of financing. This program provides financial assistance for the production, processing, and marketing needs of agricultural producers and agribusinesses across the state of Missouri. The Missouri Department of Agriculture is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time Agricultural Loan Officer position. This position is perfect for someone who likes to stay busy and enjoys variety in their work, working directly with producers and small business owners, and visiting farms and banks across the state.

Responsibilities - What you'll do

  • Explain programs loan applicants, banks, and agribusiness leaders
  • Prepare and present recommendations for board approval
  • Collaborate with industry leaders to promote Missouri agriculture
  • Represent MASBDA, MDA and the state of Missouri at trade shows and industry events
  • Complete regular bank and farm visits throughout the state
  • Review delinquencies and analyze collection issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - All you need for success

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Four (4) or more years of professional or technical experience in finance, accounting, marketing or business management with one (1) or more years of experience in loan administration, servicing, amortization or guaranty preferred. Required experience can come from a combination of direct work experience and/or completion of a relevant bachelor's degree program.
  • Valid Missouri Driver License

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Passion for and working knowledge of agriculture
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships
  • Enjoys statewide travel
