What You'll Do
- Respond to urgent maintenance and facility issues, coordinating with internal and external partners
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and property to ensure safe, reliable operations
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on farm equipment, vehicles, irrigation systems, and small engines
- Fabricate, weld, and modify equipment and infrastructure as needed
- Maintain and repair farm structures, including buildings, hoop houses, fences, and gates
- Manage parts inventory, including ordering and routine replacement
- Support preventative maintenance planning to reduce downtime and costs
- Provide recommendations and help prioritize maintenance work
- Safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in compliance with safety and food standards
- Support year-round Organic Farm and Orchard projects, including off-season tasks
Requirements
- 2 or more years of experience in maintenance, mechanical work or skilled trades
- Experience operating and repairing agricultural equipment
- Experience with automotive and small engine repairs
- Organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a mechanical field with knowledge of multiple trades
- Building repairs
- Welding experience
- Working knowledge of EAM
- Computer skills
