General Summary: The Farm Manager will oversee the daily operations, planning, and educational integration of the Student/ Community Farm supporting the College of Muscogee Nation and the Muscogee Nation Food Distribution Program. This role is

responsible for sustainable crop production, student training, farm- based education, and ensuring that farm products contribute to food sovereignty initiatives and culturally significant foodways within the Muscogee ( Creek) Nation. The Farm Manager will work closely with faculty and students to provide experiential learning opportunities while supporting the tribe' s nutrition and food distribution efforts.

This position is dependent on funding through the USDA Food and Nutrition Service Nutrition Education Grants Funds.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Farm Operations& Production:

Plan, plant, cultivate, and harvest fruits, vegetables, and traditional crops following sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices.

Maintain farm infrastructure including irrigation systems, fencing, storage facilities, and equipment.

Ensure compliance with food safety, organic, and tribal standards as applicable.

Develop seasonal crop plans aligned with the needs of CMN programs and the Food Distribution Program.

Educational & Student Engagement:

Supervise and mentor students participating in farm internships, courses, and volunteer opportunities.

Collaborate with faculty to integrate farm activities into curriculum agriculture, food sovereignty, cultural heritage).

Facilitate workshops and demonstrations on farming techniques, traditional Muscogee crops, and food systems.

Collaboration with Muscogee Nation Food Distribution Program:

Coordinate production schedules to supply fresh produce for the Food

Distribution Program and related nutrition initiatives.

Assist in culturally significant crop selection ( e. g., corn, beans, squash, yaupon) to promote traditional foodways.

Support food sovereignty and community nutrition goals by contributing farm outputs to tribal food assistance programs.

Recordkeeping& Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, student participation, and farm

expenditures.

Prepare reports for Food Distribution Director, CMN Leadership, and grant funders, including metrics on student engagement and food output.

Assist with grant writing and funding proposals related to farm operations and expansion.

Community Outreach & Events:

Host community events, farm tours, and outreach activities that promote Muscogee foodways and agricultural education.

Build partnerships with tribal departments, local school, and regional food/ agricultural networks.

Other:

May require working evening, weekends, or holidays due scheduled events.

Performs other job- related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Education - Associate' s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Natural Resource

Management, or related field ( or equivalent experience). Experience - At least 3 years' experience in farm management, sustainable

agriculture, or food systems.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities -

Knowledge of regenerative and traditional farming practices. Ability to manage and mentor students, interns, and volunteers. Strong organizational and communication skills. Problem- solving and decision- making skills to address challenges that may

arise.

Proficiency in using farm- related technology, tools, equipment. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Certifications and licenses - n/ a

Preferred Requirements: Education - Bachelor' s degree in Agriculture or Agriculture Business. Experience -

Experience working with tribal communities or Native food sovereignty initiatives.

Grant management and reporting experience. Special Skills -

Familiarity with USDA Food Distribution Program and/ or tribal nutrition programs.

Knowledge of Muscogee ( Creek) Nation culture, language, and traditional crops.
