Duration: 12-month position
Brief Description of Duties:
SUNY Morrisville is seeking a farmer to perform general farm work including such activities as care of a dairy herd and may be in charge of a specific farm operation.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performing a variety of general or specific farm work tasks, which may vary according to season and weather conditions, in caring for and managing dairy cattle. This position will focus primarily milking the dairy cows and feeding the calves and may also be expected to breed and treat cows as well as clean out barns.

Required Skills:
- Working knowledge or desire to learn about modern dairy herd procedures, methods, and techniques.
- Working knowledge or desire to learn about the care of dairy animals.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and established protocols.
- Working knowledge of the methods and equipment of milking parlor
- Working knowledge of the procedures for handling dairy cattle
- Ability to work with students and assisting them in meeting their educational requirements
- Ability to operate or learn to operate a skid loader proficiently
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor
