Welcome to Sunrise Heifer Farms! We are hiring a Farm Equipment Operator for our operation in Auburn, Indiana. In this role you will assist in daily operations of a family-owned operation that produces corn, soybean, wheat, alfalfa and bales large quantities of straw.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, maintaining machinery, and being part of a hands-on agricultural operation. The ideal candidate is reliable, willing to learn, safety-minded, and takes pride in doing quality work.

Job duties:

As a Farm Equipment Operator, you will help with a variety of day-to-day farm tasks, including:

  • Operating farm equipment such as skid loaders, payloaders, and large and small frame tractors
  • Operating semis during hay, straw, and row crop seasons
  • Assisting with planting, harvesting, baling, hauling, and other seasonal fieldwork
  • Performing daily basic maintenance on equipment, including greasing, cleaning air filters, cleaning radiators, and inspecting machinery
  • Assisting with oil changes, basic repairs, and light maintenance on equipment and facilities
  • Learning to operate additional equipment such as a sprayer, baler, or combine, depending on experience and willingness to learn
  • Working with the team to complete daily tasks safely and efficiently
  • Helping with general farm duties as needed throughout the year

Job requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Some experience operating a semi, or the willingness and ability to do so
  • Experience operating farm equipment preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • A strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Good judgment, a positive attitude, and the ability to think ahead
  • Basic mechanical ability for light maintenance and repairs
  • Willingness to work longer hours during peak seasons

Benefits:

  • Starting pay of $20 per hour and up, depending on experience
  • Weekly pay with direct deposit
