Farm Equipment Operator Job Responsibilities
As a Farm Equipment Operator / Farm Hand, you will support daily operations across our row crop, hay, livestock, and manure application businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate modern farm equipment for corn, soybean, and hay production
- Assist with planting, tillage, spraying, harvesting, and other seasonal field operations
- Operate tractors, loaders, balers, and additional agricultural equipment
- Support the manure dragline crew during manure application seasons
- Assist with hay production including mowing, raking, baling, and hauling
- Perform routine farm equipment maintenance and repairs
- Help maintain equipment, buildings, and farm facilities
- Occasionally assist with finishing hog operations and livestock-related tasks
- Follow farm safety procedures and best management practices
- Work closely with team members to complete daily and seasonal agricultural tasks
Farm Equipment Operator Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of farming or agricultural experience
- Experience operating tractors, combines, balers, planters, and other farm machinery
- Knowledge of row crop production, hay production, or livestock operations
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot farm equipment
- Ability to work extended seasonal hours during planting, haying, harvest, and manure application seasons
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
