Assist in daily operations of a family-owned livestock operation that also produces corn, soybean, wheat, alfalfa and bales large quantities of straw.
Job duties:
· Daily pen inspections and maintenance such as cleaning and putting down fresh bedding as needed.
· Daily Cattle health and welfare checks.
· Haul manure with tractor, spreaders and semis as needed.
· Operate various types of equipment such as skid loaders, payloaders, large and small framed tractors and semis during our hay and row crop seasons.
· Daily simple maintenance of machinery such as greasing, cleaning air filters, cleaning radiators and occasionally assisting in things like oil changes and simple repairs.
Job requirements:
· Must have a valid driver’s license.
· Must be 18 years old and be willing to learn to operate a semi. Experience is a plus.
· Must be able to be punctual.
· Ability to listen to instructions that are given and implement said instructions
· Ability to work well with others.
· Ability to be self-motivated.
· Must have a good attitude and willingness to think ahead on tasks while practicing good judgement.
· Must be 18 years old and be willing to learn to operate a semi experience is a plus.
· Ability to do light maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities.
· Willingness to work longer hours during peak seasons.
· Have ability to handle livestock in a calm efficient manner.
