ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to Institute for Sustainable Food Systems Director.
SUMMARY
The Farm Site Management Assistant will mainly assist with mowing, farm site maintenance and farm site cleaning for the KPU Farm Schools program at Gilbert Road and Garden City Lands. Seasonal field work may also be required during peak farming season, including harvesting, weeding, crop maintenance, and various other field tasks. As an education farm dedicated to regenerative farming practices and local food systems, this position requires someone who is passionate about regenerative agriculture, building local food systems, and food systems education.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing day-to-day farm site maintenance, mowing, and farm site cleaning
- Supporting the farm school coordinator in weeding, harvesting, post processing, or any other field work as assigned
- Ensuring that farm site, farm irrigation system, equipment, tools are well maintained in working order
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to operate mowing machinery and tools safely
- A keen interest in small-scale, regenerative agriculture
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 45lbs repeatedly
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work outside in all weather
- Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
- Class 5 driver's license
- Access to a vehicle for commuting to and from the farm is an asset
