Welcome to Hunter Nutrition! We are hiring a full-time Feed Mill Operator for our plant in Brookston, Indiana, just north of West Lafayette, who is responsible for manufacturing feed, quality control, shipping & receiving, inventory control, customer service, and equipment/plant maintenance. There is an opportunity for advancement to Production Supervisor for the right candidate. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are concerned about our business and the quality of the products we manufacture.
We are a specialized feed manufacturer. Our 58,000 sq ft plant manufacturer’s texturized, pelleted, and mineral/premix feeds. We primarily ship to 13 mid-western states, but we also have a few customers in distant states. Our customer base is made up of individuals and companies looking for higher fortified, better quality nutritional products.
We offer competitive compensation based on experience along with a benefits package, good day shift hours of about 7am to about 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Off most weekends and holidays.
In this role daily work consists of operating machinery, lifting 50-pound bags, manufacturing feed, running a forklift, using grain legs, augers, pellet mills, mixers, and conveyors.
What we’re looking for:
- Required to have at minimum on year experience in one of the following: feed mill experience, grain handling or seed industry experience, manufacturing experience, or farming/agri-business experience.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Mechanical abilities and an interest in machinery.
- A positive attitude, quick learner, a good work ethic, attention to detail, and good attendance.
- Ability to lift 50-pound bags of feed and able to climb heights up to 100ft when necessary.
