Job Summary

Boulder Country Club is looking for Horticulturist to join our grounds department. Boulder Country Club consists of an 18-hole championship golf course, a 9-hole par 3 golf course, and other indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, the employee will be responsible for daily maintenance of landscape beds and annual flowers.

Full time and Part time positions available.

Pay Rate:

$18-22 per hour, depending on experience

Education and/or Experience
  • Some High School.
  • Six months of experience in horticulture or landscaping.
  • Reliably attend work. This job requires early mornings, but you're done by 2:30pm. Some weekend work required.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
  • Knowledge of golf course operations.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.

Duties
  • Designs and maintains Boulder Country Club annual flower beds, perennial flower beds, shrub beds, and other landscape areas.
  • Repairs and adjusts current irrigation system. Ensures adequate watering of landscape and flowers beds and hand waters as needed.
  • Operation of small power tools and hand equipment used in maintaining landscape and flower beds.
  • Proper application, timing, and record keeping of fertilizer and chemical.
  • Communicates with superintendent on inventory, supplies, and materials needed for specific day-to-day jobs
  • Pull weeds, plant flowers
  • Irrigate flower beds
  • Other duties as assigned

Licenses and Special Requirements

Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Regular exposer to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Frequent exposer to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Occasional exposer to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
  • May need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots and hat.
