THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Health, Safety & Risk Specialist to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health, safety and risk management systems across the organisation. Based in the Mornington Peninsula VIC.

Reporting to senior management, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, industry standards and best practice risk management frameworks.
You will partner closely with operational leaders and employees across farming, production and distribution environments to drive positive safety outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and risk management systems and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant workplace health and safety legislation, codes of practice and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations, identifying corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develop, maintain and review policies, procedures and safety documentation.
  • Facilitate Health and Safety Committee meetings and support Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Coordinate safety training programs and identify ongoing training needs across the business.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on safety performance metrics and trends.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen workplace safety culture and minimise business risk.
  • Partner with managers and employees to promote proactive risk management and employee wellbeing.
THE REQUIREMENTS
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing health and safety systems within agriculture, food manufacturing, construction or other high-risk operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation, compliance requirements and risk management principles.
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments and workplace audits.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work autonomously while building effective relationships across all levels of the business.
