Sandy Pine is hiring an HR Specialist to join our team in Ainsworth, NE (North Central Nebraska). In this role you will support the daily Human Resources needs of our swine production operations while partnering closely with leadership and employees across the organization. The HR Specialist will provide employee relations support, assist with recruitment and onboarding, administer leave and visa programs, and support HR compliance and employee communication initiatives. This role plays an important part in fostering a positive workplace culture and providing exceptional support to employees and management.

What you will be doing:
- Provide Human Resources guidance and support through policy interpretation, employee relations, coaching, and compliance administration
- Assist with investigations, policy reviews, and employee concerns while ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures across all locations
- Support administration of leave programs, including documentation, employee communication, and return to work processes
- Partner with managers on staffing needs and assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding candidates
- Coordinate onboarding activities including employment paperwork, scheduling, and employee housing needs
- Manage and support visa programs for foreign workers including TN, H2A, and PERM programs in partnership with external law firms
- Maintain HR records and assist with scanning, filing, and document retention processes
- Serve as a point of contact for employee and manager HR related questions and provide exceptional customer service support
- Translate company documents and interpret conversations for Spanish speaking employees while fostering trust and cultural sensitivity
- Support employee engagement initiatives and promote a positive company culture focused on teamwork, collaboration, and employee wellbeing
- Assist with HR administrative projects and additional duties as assigned by management
This job is for you if you have:
- Highly proficient bilingual communication skills in both English and Spanish, including speaking, reading, and writing fluently
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal labor regulations
- Experience managing visa programs for foreign workers such as TN, H2A, and PERM programs preferred, or willingness to learn
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast paced HR environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Positive attitude with strong multitasking and problem solving abilities
- Ability to travel locally up to 25% for recruitment and employee related activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Willingness to take on additional duties and support the broader HR team as needed
- Valid driver’s license required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
