Role Title: Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering

Location: Llysfasi

Contract Type: Part Time (0.4 FTE 14.8 hours per week), Permanent

Pro Rata Salary: M1 £13,483.40 - UP3 £20,772.80 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Engineering to join us at our Llysfasi site. Supported by a £10m investment, Llysfasi is transforming into a state-of-the-art hub for agricultural sustainability and technical innovation.

In this role, you will primarily teach Level 2 and Level 3 learners, delivering engaging lessons, preparing practical materials, and assessing coursework to equip students with the skills they need for their future engineering careers. While the core focus is on Levels 2 and 3, experience teaching up to HND level is a welcome bonus-though not essential.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Deliver Learning: Teach engaging, hands-on engineering topics to Level 2 and Level 3 students.
  • Support Student Growth: Provide constructive guidance and help learners achieve their personal goals.
  • Course Preparation: Design learning resources, mark assignments, and participate in course planning and reviews.
  • Collaborate & Build: Work alongside tutors and industry partners to keep our curriculum current and practical.

Essential Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant subject area and/or industry experience
  • Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, C&G 7407) or willing to work towards
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment

Welsh Language skills are an essential requirement for this role. Candidates are required to have a Welsh Level of C2. However, applicants who are currently within one level of the required standard (C1) are also encouraged to apply on a "need-to-learn" basis, provided they demonstrate a clear commitment to achieving the necessary fluency.

Welsh skills are essential for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
