Sage Ag Inc. is currently seeking a hardworking, self-motivated, & detailed oriented individual this is passionate about agricultural technology & machinery. Through this position, you will be working with a major agricultural machinery manufacturer with cutting edge technology. As a Precision Ag Software Test Engineer, you will be conducting software testing, assisting in root cause analysis, tracking issues and the progress of solutions, and communicating with product managers, developers, and engineers on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate large agricultural equipment in test & field environments
  • Develop and deliver software test strategy and test plans for the systems under test
  • Set up and configure software testing environments, including both automated and manual testing tools
  • Execute software test cases to validate functionality and performance across various applications.
  • Record and analyze software test results, ensuring accurate documentation of findings.
  • Collect relevant data using engineering tools to help resolve the issue found during testing
  • Collaborate with development teams to report and track software issues identified during testing.
  • Conduct software regression testing to ensure existing features function correctly after updates or changes
  • Establish a deep understanding of agriculture technologies and application functionalities
  • Participate in user acceptance testing to verify that software meets user requirements.
  • Provide feedback on software usability and performance based on testing outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 in a technical field (e.g., Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Agricultural Systems Technology).
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting software and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to work and adapt in dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Professional presentation and communication
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Ability to keep accurate & detailed records of work performed
  • Must have positive attitude and willingness to learn


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CAN, J1939, and ISOBUS protocols.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Arduino operating systems.
  • Skills in programming languages like Python, C, or C++
  • Prior experience operating large farm machinery


Details:

  • Job Duration: Full-Time
  • Job Location: Ames, Iowa
  • Compensation: Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 yearly, plus bonuses based on experience. All travel expenses paid by Sage Ag Inc.
