About: OmniLytics, Inc. is a biotechnology company developing biological and environmentally responsible solutions for bacterial diseases affecting fruit and specialty vegetable crops. Our products support growers of pome fruit, stone fruit, citrus, tomatoes, peppers, and other high-value crops.

The opportunity: We are seeking a technically capable, relationship-driven sales professional to manage and expand our business throughout Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. This role combines territory sales, account management, field demonstrations, and coordination of grower trials. The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with growers, crop consultants, distributors, and internal technical staff. We prefer a Florida-based representative since most customers are located in Florida.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing customers, ensuring responsive service and identifying opportunities for account growth.
  • Develop new business by prospecting, qualifying opportunities, scheduling meetings, presenting solutions, and managing the sales process through close.
  • Plan and execute grower trials and field demonstrations from initial design through follow-up, data collection, and commercial conversion.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of OmniLytics products, target diseases, use patterns, and practical crop-production challenges.
  • Work with growers, distributors, crop consultants, and other channel partners to increase product awareness and adoption.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, activity, forecast, and account information in the company CRM.
  • Prepare clear sales reports, proposals, trial summaries, and territory plans for management.
  • Represent OmniLytics professionally at customer meetings, field days, trade shows, and industry events.

Required qualifications

  • At least three years of successful sales, account-management, or business-development experience in agriculture or a closely related technical market.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a territory, build customer relationships, and close new business.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical or scientific concepts in practical, customer-focused terms.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Working proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, and standard business software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 30-40% of the time, including periodic overnight travel.
  • Residence within Florida, Georgia, or Alabama and a valid driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant science, horticulture, biology, microbiology, agribusiness, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with fruit, vegetable, citrus, orchard, or specialty-crop production.
  • Existing relationships with growers, crop consultants, distributors, packinghouses, or agricultural retailers in the territory.
  • Experience selling biological crop-protection products, agricultural inputs, specialty chemicals, or other technically differentiated products.
  • A record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive overall compensation of $80,000-$125,000, based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity.
  • Health and dental insurance (employer pays 60% of monthly premium).
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Paid vacation and company holidays.
  • Car allowance and reimbursement of approved business-travel expenses.

What success looks like

  • A well-organized territory with strong customer coverage and a credible sales pipeline.
  • Consistent growth in product trials, distributor engagement, and commercial accounts.
  • High-quality execution and follow-up on grower demonstrations and field trials.
  • Accurate forecasting, disciplined CRM use, and effective communication with management and technical teams.
