Job Summary/Basic Function

- Wash and pack harvested produce
- Assist with harvesting crops as needed
- Prepare produce for market sales
- Transport and set up materials for farmers markets
- Sell produce and interact with customers at farmers markets
- Handle basic cash or point-of-sale transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces
- Assist with loading and unloading supplies and produce
- Follow all food safety and handling guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Shepherd University.
- Degree-seeking student.
- Must have reliable transportation. The site is located 2 miles off of main campus.
- Ability to perform light to moderate physical labor, including standing for extended periods and lifting produce
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to work early mornings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with farming, gardening, or produce handling
- Customer service or sales experience (especially at farmers markets)
- Interest in sustainable agriculture or local food systems
