Tile Customer Service Representative

Job Description

Tile Customer Service Representative responsibility is to grow our customers, ADS, and North Star Ag’s tile business through organization, timeliness, customer service, & to become a trusted partner within their business.

Reports to: Directly to Tile Manager

Responsibilities

Yards: Tower City

  • Manage Inventory Levels
  • Order product to align with min-max levels as well as current demand and orders
  • Organize/participate in seasonal Inventory counts
  • Adjust inventory to reflect physical counts
  • Inventory: Will be taken monthly in season and Quartey out of season
  • Meet customers at yard for pickup if needed.

Customer Invoice/Order:

  • All orders of project size or larger & key contractors will be managed by tile manager, assisted by the tile CSR
  • Enter/update customer invoices to reflect accurate order and delivery, pricing and tax
  • Update customer invoice for returns/changes
  • Close invoice and send to customer
  • Take CC payment for cash sales

Deliveries/Pick up:

  • Schedule deliveries of tile and fittings from NSA yards
  • Schedule pickup and deliveries from ADS plants/yards
  • Schedule core pick ups

Vendor Orders:

  • Place orders to be picked up at the Plant
  • Place orders to be delivered to customer/project

Vendor Invoices:

  • Enter product invoice into inventory
  • Send invoice along with receipt to accounting to pay

Communication:

  • With Tile manager, ADS rep, ADS logistics/drivers & customers' needs to be timely within the hour of a missed call/text/email.
  • Communication must be clear/concise/accurate to ensure efficiency & organization.
  • All calls must come in through company phone & texting must be done through texting application used by North Star Ag.
  • Network with industry professionals
  • Relationship building with customers (provide occasional lunch, marketing/clothing, etc.)
  • Customer entertainment/networking (taking customers to events/shows/educational seminars)
  • Attending farm shows as requested

Training Period:

  • For the first 3 months, 2 days spent in Tower
  • After that, up to 1 day each week in one of the yards.
  • Spot check inventory
  • Check delivered pipe
  • Be familiar with lot layout

Education/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred, agriculture experience is beneficial.
  • Significant work experience in customer service or sales is strongly preferred.
  • Able to memorize product specifications and demonstrate use accurately.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Desire to continue to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent selling, communication (both written and verbal), and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Articulate and well-spoken with excellent phone and email etiquette.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated.
  • Always demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Prioritizing time management and organizational skills.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm or as needed, in winter and summer. Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturdays 8 am-3 pm or as needed in spring and fall.
