Are you an energetic student with a love of agriculture? Our Agriculture, Technology & Natural Resources Department is seeking a student for our Greenhouse Assistant position to maintain our Greenhouse.

What You'll Do
Bismarck State College is seeking a reliable and motivated student to help with the daily operations of the greenhouse located in the Career Academy

Hourly Rate: $16.00/hour

Additional responsibilities include
  • Plant and care for plants/crops in a greenhouse setting. This may involve tasks such as planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, ensuring proper spacing, and managing plant growth
  • Monitor temperature and humidity levels to ensure plants are receiving optimal care
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations when handling chemicals and equipment
  • Ensure greenhouse cleanliness
  • Take regular stock of stocked equipment and notify faculty if anything becomes low so it can be ordered in a timely fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Good communication skills. Communicating greenhouse concerns or needs is important in ensuring a healthy environment where plants and crops can grow
  • Collaboration and communication are key to ensuring efficient greenhouse operations
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and handle interruptions
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Physical Demands:
  • Continuously - 66-100%- Use hands dexterously, talk or hear.
  • Frequently-34-66% Stand, walk, or sit, reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally-1-33%-Stoop/kneel/crouch or crawl, climb or balance, or lift to 50 pounds.
