Lennard Ag Company is a family-owned, three-generation farming operation that’s been producing and delivering quality vegetables and grain crops since 1947. Specializing in potatoes, tomatoes, seed corn, and commercial corn, we grow over 14,000 acres across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, South Carolina, and North Carolina. We combine strong industry traditions with cutting-edge agricultural practices, advanced technology, and modern management approaches.

Be part of something bigger! Lennard Ag Company is growing and hiring a Field Agronomy Specialist based in Howe, IN to support our agronomy and farm operations teams across multiple locations. In this role, you will work closely with the agronomy team and Farm Managers, with a primary focus on field scouting and crop quality evaluation during the growing season.

Approximately 50% travel is expected between Lennard Ag’s farm locations. This is a hands-on, field-based role with exposure to both in-season crop development and post-harvest quality analysis.

We offer competitive compensation based on experience. Benefits include company-paid health and dental insurance, paid time off, disability benefits, 401(k), and life insurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate planting quality in field for spacing, depth, and uniformity
  • Scout fields throughout the growing season and collect field data, with a primary focus on potato crops
  • Assist with post-harvest crop quality assessments and analysis
  • Analyze crop quality factors including impact bruising, hollow heart, and other post-harvest quality indicators
  • Communicate findings to agronomy leadership and farm managers to support continuous improvement
  • Assist in potato seed quality and uniformity in cutting
  • Travel regularly between Lennard Ag Company farm locations (approximately 50%)
  • Maintain accurate field notes, reports, and data records

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on field experience)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk fields for extended periods during the growing season
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak season.
