Territory Sales manager - Ground Water Pumps, Motors and Drives.
TERRITORY SALES MANAGER
Ground Water Pumps, Motors & Drives
Location: United States (Territory-based | Field Sales) Travel: Frequent regional travel required
Industry: Agriculture / Ground Water Pumping Equipment Job Type: Full-Time
Are you a driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships in the field and speaking the language of farmers, dealers, and distributors? We're looking for a Territory Sales Manager to grow our ground water pumps, motors, and drives business across your assigned US territory — by recruiting the right distributor partners, arming their teams with technical know-how, and being the trusted go-to expert growers and dealers count on.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who enjoys the open road as much as the deal room — someone who can walk a distributor's sales floor, size a pump application on the spot, and just as comfortably present a business case to leadership back at HQ.
What You'll Do
- Prospect, evaluate, and appoint new distributors across your territory to expand market coverage and revenue for ground water pumps, motors, and drives.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with distributor principals and their sales teams, positioning yourself as their trusted technical and business partner.
- Train distributor sales teams on pump and motor sizing, selection, and application fundamentals so they can sell and support the product line with confidence.
- Represent the company at local and regional trade fairs, farm shows, and industry events to generate leads and strengthen brand visibility.
- Provide hands-on technical solutions and application support to distributors and end customers — troubleshooting, sizing recommendations, and product fit.
- Benchmark competitor products, marketing programs, and pricing strategies in your territory, and feed insights back to product and pricing teams.
- Track and report territory performance, pipeline, and distributor activity accurately and on time, using CRM and reporting tools.
- Own and deliver territory sales targets, working proactively to close gaps and capture growth opportunities throughout the year.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of field sales, territory management, or distributor development experience, ideally in agriculture, irrigation, pumps, motors, or related industrial equipment.
- Working knowledge of pump and motor sizing, hydraulics, or a strong aptitude and willingness to master it quickly.
- A natural relationship-builder who can earn trust with distributor owners, technicians, and farmers alike.
- Comfort with frequent travel throughout the territory, including overnight trips and trade show attendance.
- Strong presentation and training skills — able to run a room of dealer sales reps as confidently as a one-on-one farm visit.
- Self-starter who manages their own schedule, pipeline, and reporting with discipline and follow-through.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable driving record; ability to travel by air as needed for events or company meetings.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience selling through a dealer or distributor channel model.
- Background or familiarity with irrigation, agriculture equipment, or rural/farm communities.
- Experience with CRM systems and structured sales reporting.
Why Join Us
- Own a territory and build it like it's your own business, backed by an established product line and brand.
- Be the technical expert your distributors rely on — real influence, real relationships, real results.
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives, mileage/travel allowance, and benefits.
- A company that invests in product training and supports you with real technical resources, not just a price list.
