- Promote and Facilitate Teamwork: Practice teamwork within the Career and Technical Education (CTE) section and the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE. Collaborate with colleagues, assist with projects, address stakeholder needs, and proactively resolve issues.
- Supervise Staff: Oversee Agriculture and Energy and Natural Resources staff by managing task assignments, supervising work, approving travel and itineraries, evaluating performance, and using time management, organizational skills, and technology to enhance efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Agriculture and Energy and Natural Resources Curricula: Oversee the implementation of the Agriculture and Energy and Natural Resources Course of Study, ensuring that the curriculum, equipment lists, plans of instruction, and textbook are current and accessible to teachers and stakeholders.
- Manage the Career Readiness Indicator (CRI) and Credentialing Process : Manage the Career Readiness Indicators (CRI)/credentialing process as a part of the overall College and Career Readiness system, so new credentials are considered for addition, and existing credentials are reviewed for updates.
- Oversee the Agriscience Extended Year Grant: Oversee the Agriscience extended year grant, approving application and amendments, maintaining the grant database, securing grant readers, developing and disseminating reader group packets, communicating with the appropriate departmental personnel, generating grant follow-up reports and developing notification letters and reports so that grants are accurately processed and the database contains accurate information as evidenced by correct information being disseminated to local education agencies regarding grant applicants and their award status.
- Plan and Coordinate Professional Development Activities: Plan and coordinate professional development activities for unit staff, teachers, and LEA administrators through virtual sessions, technical assistance visits, regional workshops, and the Alabama Professional Development Conference.
- Oversee EQIP Process and Content Development: Supervise assigned team's execution of the EQIP process for assigned clusters, ensuring that desk audits, on-site TAPE reviews, and technical assistance are conducted to fidelity. Provide oversight and support as needed to ensure all documentation is completed and submitted.
- Collaborate with Various Stakeholders: Serve on various agricultural boards, advisory committees, and commodity boards, collaborating with cooperative extension services and other entities to support K-12 agricultural education, and maintains liaison with postsecondary institutions and other agencies providing agricultural education.
- Other Projects: Complete other projects, assignments, and duties as directed by the Section Coordinator of Career and Technical Education.
- Travel: Overnight travel required.
Education:
- Must meet the minimum requirements as noted on the State Personnel Department Job Announcement for Education Administrator I
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an approved content area, subject matter, or other education specialty area is required.
Experience:
- Must meet the minimum requirements as noted on the State Personnel Department Job Announcement for Education Administrator I
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in teaching and/or education. District and/or school leadership experience preferred.
